I'm a Cape Town, South Africa-based freelance writer, editor and copywriter with more than 15 years experience in creating online content. My primary passion is music and exposing promising, upcoming artists to a wider audience by shining a light on their music and journey as artists.
As co-founder and editor of South Africa’s first electronic music-focused blog (www.electrotrash.co.za), I produced content covering the then-burgeoning electronic music scene from 2005 until 2013. This led to me being published on other platforms such as Mahala, Bubblegum Club, OkayAfrica, the Mail and Guardian and Red Bull, as well as DJ Mag SA.
During my time at the Jupiter Drawing Room Cape Town, I created social content for Hyundai, Virgin Active, Mediclinic, Windhoek Beer, Burger King, Lucky Star and Urban Degree, honing my ability to convey brand voice and tone in content. More recently I have created various assets for YOCO, Health Warriors and the Women’s Legal Centre.
My role as music editor for Red Bull South Africa has given me experience in managing a large pool of contributors as well as identifying and commissioning content that speaks to our audience.
When I’m not listening to new music or writing you can find me in my garden tending to my cactus collection.
